The Senior Art exhibitions
Senior Art students have two forms of assessment in a year these are their workbooks and their portfolios. These are worked on throughout the year and are an accumulation of their years work.
The workbooks are all about experimenting with art materials, trialing processes and techniques and creating unexpected outcomes – happy accidents. This can be from one discipline e.g. Painting but explore different techniques (watercolour, ink and acrylics) or cross-disciplinary (e.g. Painting, Printmaking and Drawing.
With the portfolios the focus is on finished work. The panel of artworks needs to relate and develop. Students need to show their ability to control and manipulate different art media and techniques. They need to use established practice (existing artists) to develop their visual ideas and techniques. Work should be presented in a logical order with the larger more refined artworks at the end. The portfolio showcases a year of thinking, research, exploration and development.
At the end of each year an exhibition of the Senior Art portfolios is held to showcase their hard work throughout the year.
