Mathematics – Pāngarau

Westland High School offers Math courses at all curriculum levels.

The Junior and Middle school Math subjects cover a diverse range within the curricula e.g. Numeracy skills, Measurement, Introduction to Statistics and Probability in the Junior classes and preparation for NCEA Maths Level 1 plus Algebra, Geometry and Measurement, Statistics and Probability and Trigonometry in the Middle School classes.

Within the Senior school separate Math subjects of Calculus, Algebra, Statistics and Accounting are all offered.

At Year 11 level students can also take Pāngarau math as part of Mātauranga Māori (the Maori curriculum).
