Level 2 Art History

Pre-requisites:

You must have NCEA Level 1, performing well in level 1 writing-based subjects. See Ms Mallinson for more information.

Course description:

This course covers content that includes French Art (Neoclassicism to Post-Impressionism). Students have a one hour video conference lecture through the Virtual Learning Network each week with their art history teacher, who is located at another New Zealand school, and study independently for the other three classes, for a total of four timetabled hours a week. Access to a laptop is essential.

AS91181 Examine the meanings conveyed by art works 4

AS91182 Examine the influence of context(s) on art works 4

AS91183 Examine how media are used to create effects in art works 4

AS91184 Communicate understanding of an art history topic 4

AS91185 Respond to art works 4

AS91186 Demonstrate understanding of art works in relation to the physical environments in which they are seen 4
