Level 3 Printmaking

Students are guided to develop individualised proposals for their course of study, which includes their choice of subject matter, ideas, theoretical and philosophical influences, and inspiration from contemporary artistic practice. They can learn to recognise their own unique creative language, and contextualise their expressive approach within the wider world of artistic practice. Students wishing to complete full year courses in both painting and printmaking should select art on two option lines. Year 13 students are expected to be self-motivated and demonstrate leadership. There will be students learning at NCEA levels one, two and three in the same class. In term one, all senior art students will work together developing art works for their own community exhibition and to fundraise for a local cause. Students will develop a wide range of technical skills in this project, that will form the basis for individualised creative directions during the rest of the year.
