Level 3 Photography

Pre-requisites:

Successful completion of Level 2 photography, including the 12 credit folio. See Mr Shawcross or Ms Mallinson for more information.

Course description:

Students are guided to develop individualised proposals for their course of study, which includes their choice of subject matter, ideas, theoretical and philosophical influences, and inspiration from contemporary photographic and artistic practice. Students can learn to recognise their own unique creative language, and contextualise their expressive approach within the wider world of photographic and artistic practice.

AS91442 Analyse methods and ideas from established photography practice 4

AS91447 Use drawing to demonstrate understanding of conventions appropriate to photography 4

AS91452 Systematically clarify ideas using drawing informed by established photography practice 4

AS91457 Produce a systematic body of work that integrates conventions and regenerates ideas within photography practice 14

Leads to:

Tertiary study and careers in fine arts, visual arts, maori visual arts, art history, art theory, cultural studies, painting, printmaking, sculpture, conceptual art, installation, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, fashion, photography (darkroom and digital), multimedia, new media, design (website design, animation, gaming, corporate identity and marketing, book covers, magazines, advertising creative, interior design etc), art psychotherapy, arts access, curator (museums, galleries, dealer galleries), education/teaching/lecturer.
