Level 1 Physical Education
Pre-requisites:
The student must have taken at least 4 trimesters of PE at middle school level.
Course description:
This course aims to improve performance in a variety of physical activities as well as learn about how the body works and responds to physical activity, both practically and mentally. This course is on average half practical and half theory. Most of the practical components involve consistent participation and reflection on your performance.
Topics covered:
– Let’s get physical (factors that affect participation)
– Improving my volleyball performance
– Discovery – the moving body (anatomy and biomechanics)
– Social responsibility in physical activity (basketball)
– Actions that assist (coaching juniors)
