Level 1, 2 and 3 Digital Technology/Computing

Pre-requisites:

None, however, Middle School Digital Technology is recommended

Course description:

This course will give students skills in designing and developing digital outcomes which will be able to be applied in future study and employment. Through the below topics students will also look at digital citizenship, ethical issues and considerations, knowledge of file management and computer systems. Students will be able to put together an individualised programme of learning that meets their needs and ability.

Topics include:

  • Digital Solutions – Using the Microsoft Office Suite of programs students will learn applications for spreadsheets, databases, text and word processing, basic computer programming and markup language for website coding.

and/or

  • Digital Design – Using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign students will learn to create digital documents to industry standard, using good design principles.

Assessment:

Students will have the opportunity to gain between 15-20 Level 2 credits. Each student will create an individual learning pathway and can be assessed by  a variety of Industry Unit Standards.
