Westland High School welcomes students from a variety of countries including, Japan, Thailand, Germany, Switzerland, USA, France and Italy. Our guideline is to have a maximum of six students from one culture. We aim to provide a uniquely New Zealand experience. All students are home-hosted.
Duration of stay ranges from short stay group visits of 10 -20 days and long stay individual programmes ranging from 3 months - 2 years.
Academic success: We offer a full range of academic courses, plus the very special outdoor education course which is within the school programme.
Some of our German students prepare for New Zealand’s University Entrance and NCEA 3 qualifications which entitles them to enter university in Germany.
We encourage our students to have an international experience too. In 2019 an exchange to Japan is mooted.
