Westland High students participate in Science fair.

Some of our junior and middle school students took part in the regional science fair this term.

Several of our junior and middle school students took their project boards to the regional science fair competition in Greymouth earlier this term, accompanied by science teacher, Janey Collins.

Each student or group conducts some original research into a topic of their choice in the form of an investigation. They prepare a board of their work and findings and display this in a class setting. The best projects are then invited to improve their work to take to the regional competition. This is a great opportunity for our students to be real scientists doing real science.

Thanks to Joe Tauwhare and Caden Manuel in year 7, Isabel Cummings, and Deckquinn McHatten in year 8, Georgia Carter, Stevie Crombie, Kaira Lourie, Rhiannon Eason, Anika Nelson and Ella Stewart in year 9 and Annabel Wardel in year 10 for sharing your work with the West Coast and representing the school so well.
