West Coast Cross country champs

The weather held off long enough for the Westland High School representatives to compete in the West Coast Cross Country champs.

We had 10 keen Year 7 and 8 students competing at the West Coast Primary School Cross Country in Kumara last week; Sam Hewitt, Rose Craig, Jessie Smith, Eddie Rae, Siobhan Thornley, Caden Manuel, Makiaya Bishop, Nate Crossman, Tamsin Gillespie and Luke Schwartz.

The rain held off until the afternoon so conditions were cool but not too wet. Four of the competitors have qualified to run at the Canterbury Primary Schools Cross Country at Halswell Quarry on August 12th. They are Jessie Smith, Sam Hewitt, Nate Crossman and Tamsin Gillespie. Congratulations to all the competitors who ran their races with pride and determination.
