Art to inspire

'Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time' - Thomas Merton

From time to time we are lucky enough to have one of the many creative students at Westland High School, share their work with us. One of our students (Gwen Bodiou) has allowed us to share a portrait he recently drew of one of his fellow students (Mélissa Roux).

Though Gwen has not formally studied art at secondary school level before, he has shown fluency with every art medium he picked up this term.

Gwen has been visiting our school this term from France and will be heading home on Saturday. We wish him all the best.

'Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.' - Pablo Picasso
