Campus – Facilities

Campus facilities

Westland High School’s campus is located at 140 Hampden Street, Hokitika, approximately 10 minutes walk from the main shopping and business district of the town.

Just under 400 students attend Westland High School. The student population is large enough to offer variety and a vibrant youth culture, yet small enough to have class sizes that ensure hands-on individualised attention.

The school campus offers a wide range of facilities to enhance the learning experience including a commercial kitchen (for food technology), a kitted out technology suite (including woodworking and metalworking equipment) as well a library, gymnasium, senior students’ common room, pottery kiln and much more.

Plans are under development for a new school hall, theatre and administration block as well as a new multi-million dollar Westland Sports Hub.

The facilities at Westland High School provide ample opportunity for students to fulfil their study and class requirements as well as have fun.
