The Runanga currently consists of sixteen students: Ryan Bloomfield (Co-chairperson), Shantelle Godfrey (Co-chairperson), Jack Parkinson, Louie Neale, Tara Robinson (Co-treasurer), Lila Gibbens (Co-treasurer), Paige Kirk, Eden Power, Janae Foster, Tameka Gallon (Student Board Representative), Leah Ngatai, Laura Jones, Tessa Wood, Drew Webb, Nate McKewen and Phoebe Wilson (Secretary), accompanied by a support staff member.
The Runanga Tauira have recently resolved to fundraise and contribute to local charities, such as the SPCA, RDA, Food Bank and Ronald McDonald House. Another pronouncement was the decision to run a ‘trial’ social for the Year 7 and 8s, hopefully organised by a collaboration of assorted juniors and two Runanga representatives.
These are only the beginnings of what can conceivably be depicted as a beneficial and fulfilling year for not just the school but also the students within it.
